This article provides information about the volume and types of notices published in TED (https://ted.europa.eu/en/) from year 2023 until 2025. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with EU public procurement.
How many notices were published in TED?
Around 800K notices were published in TED in the years 2023 and 2024. In 2025, there is an increase of ~9% (871K) compared to the previous years. Below chart shows the trend of number of notices and types of notices (form type) published in TED in the last 3 years. It can be clearly seen that there is an increasing trend in the number of notices published.

Daily Trend
About 3K to 4K notices are published on an average on daily basis as seen in the chart below. Here too, we can notice an increasing trend as depicted by the trendline.

Until the end of 2023, there is a higher degree of variation in the number of notices published from one day to another. Some days, the number of notices published are in 100s and other days it is more than 5K. However, from 2024, the variation is very much lower and the number is gradually but steadily increasing. On a deeper level check, it was found that, until end of 2023, notices were predominantly published using the standard (old) forms. And from Feb 2024, notices were published using eForms. The chart below showcases the number of old XML notices and eForm notices published in the last 3 years.

Interesting observations
Form type 'Change' appears only in 2023. This is because it was taken out of use in 2023.
Number of notices published in TED is steadily increasing year-on-year.
When old XML (standard forms) were in use, there was a significant drop in the number of notices published one day (Thursdays) per week compared to other days.
Last notice published using old forms was in June 2024. Since then all notices are published as eForms.
