ORBIT more details

This page provides details about the following points

  • The core responsibilities for each of these roles are provided below to give you an idea so that you can make an informed decision about which role suits you the best.

  • The responsibilities mentioned are not exhaustive and not restrictive. There could also be certain level of overlap of responsibilities between the roles.

  • One person could do more than one role in a Datamart project. For example an ETL Developer or Report Developer could also perform the tasks of a Dimensional Modeler.  Even though not recommended, a student can switch between roles during the program

Working approach

Below points should provide a high level idea about our working approach.

  • Each team will work on one Datamart project at a time.  Versions of same Data mart could be built by two or more teams using same/different tools at the same time.

  • Common sessions (webinars, online meetings, training session, etc) for all teams will be held on Saturdays ( Fridays or Thursdays if mutually agreed)

  • WDAS, read as WeeDAS or vDAS (Weekly Demo and Sync-up) will also be held on Saturdays. WDAS is derived based on DDAS (Daily Demo and Sync-up) from KABI. The activities that takes place in WDAS is same as DDAS except that it happens only once a week instead of Daily basis.

  • Training and Mentoring sessions will happen on Thursdays and Fridays at mutually agreed times.  During these times, plans will be shared, tasks will be allocated and direction and guidance would be provided.

  • Student is free to work on the tasks any day according to his/her convenience. Reviews by mentors will happen based on mentor's availability.  Support will be provided only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
